Tax Invoice Generator — Free, No Signup
Getting the tax right on an invoice shouldn’t need a spreadsheet or an accountant’s login. This generator calculates tax two ways: per line item and for the invoice as a whole. The preview shows the tax as separate, checkable totals, so your clients and your bookkeeper can verify the arithmetic at a glance. Set any rate: GST, VAT, sales tax, whatever you call it. The math is automatic and exact. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing leaves your device.
Tax, calculated two ways
Real invoices rarely have one flat tax. Sometimes different items carry different rates. Sometimes one rate applies to the subtotal. Sometimes both at once. This generator handles each line item’s own tax percentage, plus an overall invoice tax applied after discounts. The preview breaks it all out: line-item tax, invoice tax, subtotal, discounts, shipping, and the grand total. Nothing hides inside a single number. Change a rate and every dependent total recalculates instantly, right in front of you. That transparency pays off the first time a client questions a total: you can point to the exact line where the tax was applied instead of defending a black-box figure.
One tool, any tax system
GST, VAT, sales tax, service tax. The generator doesn’t care what you call it, because here tax is just a labelled percentage with honest math behind it. That makes it usable anywhere: 18% GST per line in India, 20% VAT on the invoice in the UK, 0% where no tax applies. Amounts format in 35 currencies with the right symbols and locales, so the tax totals read naturally in dollars, rupees or euros. The history saves every document with its totals, so come tax season you’ve got a clean record, exportable to CSV for your spreadsheet or your accountant. One caveat: this is arithmetic, not advice. The rates are yours to set.
Is this tax invoice generator free?
Yes. Per-line tax, invoice-level tax, automatic totals and PDF download are all included at no cost, with no account required.
Can I add different tax rates to different items?
Yes. Each line item has its own tax % field, plus an invoice-level tax field. Both calculate automatically and appear as separate, labelled totals on the invoice.
Does it work for GST and VAT?
Yes. The tax fields accept any percentage you enter. Note it as GST, VAT or sales tax in your item descriptions or terms. The math is identical; the rate is yours to set.
Can I export my tax totals for accounting?
Yes. My Invoices stores every invoice with its totals, and Export CSV downloads the number, client, dates, totals, currency and status for your books or your accountant.

What must a tax invoice include?
A valid tax invoice generally needs: the words ‘tax invoice’, your business name and tax ID, the issue date, a description of goods/services (with quantity and price), the tax amount (or a statement that the total includes tax), and the total. Requirements vary by country — this is general information, not tax advice. (Sources: ATO, Stripe, via web search Oct 2026.)
What’s the difference between an invoice and a tax invoice?
An invoice is a request for payment. A tax invoice is a specific document for tax purposes that includes your tax registration number and the tax amount, allowing the buyer to claim tax credits. If you’re not tax-registered, issue a regular invoice without tax. (Source: ATO.)
Do I need to charge tax on my invoices?
Only if you’re registered for the relevant tax (GST, VAT, sales tax) in your jurisdiction. Registration thresholds vary — for example, Australia requires GST registration at $75,000 turnover. If you’re not registered, don’t show tax on the invoice. Check your local tax authority’s rules. (Source: ATO.)
Can I use Innvoic for tax invoices?
Yes — set your own tax rate per line item and label the invoice accordingly. The tool calculates tax on the discounted line amount. However, Innvoic doesn’t automate government e-invoicing, filing, or registration. For regulated e-invoicing systems, use the official government portal alongside it.
